Tipton ended a winless 12 game sequence at Woodbury on Sunday where they won by six wickets, writes Phil Wright.

Woodbury batted first and good bowling performances by Steve Shaw with 2-19 Adam Gibbins 2-28 and David O’Higgins 1-20, each off their allotted eight overs helped restrict the home side to 143-7.

Even John Rodgers, making only his second appearance of the season, but his 600th overall for Tipton, managed to take a wicket first ball.

The top six Tipton batsmen all contributed to Tipton’s total with David Jessop top scoring with 30 supported by Steve Shaw, Matt Williamson and Ollie Coates each making 20 and Jem Gillham 19.

Williamson and Coates were undefeated in a winning partnership of 43 to take Tipton to a long awaited victory.
