Sidmouth 2nd sealed a 12th successive victory to as the Fortfield side move ever closer to a ninth 2nd XI premier title in the last 12 years, after a quick-fire ten wicket win at Paignton II.

It seems the home side were in awe of the Sidmouth batting for the Paignton skipper wasted no time in choosing to bat on what did look a wicket favour the bowlers!

Billy Gater and Fionn Wardrop bowled superbly in the early stages with Gater picking up three wickets and Wardrop the one before Miles Dalton became the star of the show, returning the extraordinary figures of five wickets for four runs!

The leg spinner was hit for just a single scoring shot in six overs!

As a result of the Sidmouth bowling effort the home side were all out in double quick time for a meagre 63.

The run chase was over in even quicker time as Harvey Sargent and Anthony Dibble made sure that a maximum points success was sealed.

This weekend, with the Folk Festival in full swing, Sidmouth II decamp to the University of Exeter ground at Topsham where they will meet Budleigh II.
