The Reserves hosted Upottery from Senior 1 in the Devon Senior Cup.Even though they lost 5-2 they can take pride in the standard of their football.Starting off with a 4-5-1 formation to try to create width, Otters matched everything Upottery threw at them, Chris Dinsdale making some good saves in goal.Matt Bull shot over from 10 yards from a great corner from Minto, and at this stage everything was going to plan.But, after 25 minutes, a long ball over the top, which was used regularly by the visitors, broke down John Watson's well-marshalled defence and Otters were 1-0 down.Skipper Steve Hunt added strength in a midfield with some well taken strong tackles but again the seconds gifted a second to Upottery by switching off. A third and fourth goal soon followed.Andy Davey, playing his first game of the season, pulled the reserves back just before the half time whistleWithin a few minutes of the restart, the Upottery keeper held on to the ball for longer than the six second rule and a free kick was awarded just inside their box. Minto shouted for it and scored.
