Sidmouth men played their first match of the Over 60's Devon League Match against South Hams but were hampered by absences.
It was, therefore, an opportunity for six newer members to make their debut for the club: Don Smith, Clive Brook, David Fishlock , Neil Faulkner , Chris Ward and Ron Clint .
It wasn't for the lack of trying, but sadly all four rinks lost. Let's hope the score of Sidmouth 46 South Hams 109 hasn't put them off for the future.
Ladies Championship matches have now started and the first round winners so far are Carol Smith, Jill Bishop, Zena Johnson, Carol Timms, Sue Turner and Elaine Reed
The closest game was between Sue Turner and Brenda Somerfield, which was very good to watch with some excellent bowling by both players. Sue just managed to get the edge towards the end with a win of 21 - 17.
