Topsham scored twice in the first half with the "green army" twice being denied by knock ons close to the line.
Topsham extended their lead with 10 minutes remaining.
Ian West claimed the only Sidmouth try which was converted by Moray Boscence.
Despite camping on the visitors' try line for the remaining time, Sidmouth could not breach the defence.
There was a solid senior debut by Karl on the wing, and 55 year old Dai Evans starred in the front row.
