The Tolchards Devon Cricket League season has reached the halfway point with a number of local sides poised for a big push toward the top.
In the Premier Division, Sidmouth sit in fourth position, just five points behind Paignton in third, with Heathcoat and Sandford holding the top two places.
Exmouth are sixth, although only four points behind their local rivals and the two sides will meet at the Maer Ground on the penultimate weekend.
Bradninch are leading the way in the A Division and Budleigh Salterton sit sixth in an extremely tight mid-table, as they are just three points ahead of second-bottom Seaton.
Kilmington are currently top of the B Division but closely followed by Throverton in another league still with everything to play for.
In the C Division East, Exmouth 2nds are in a great position, just behind leaders Clyst St George, and the top two will meet on July 24. Sidmouth 2nds travel to Exmouth this weekend, and victory would bring them into the title mix.
Ottery St Mary CC and Upottery CC take up two of the bottom three places and will be striving for big improvements in the second half of the campaign.
Alphington and Countess Wear CC currently hold pole position in the D Division East and there is work to be done for Sidmouth 3rds and Feniton, who are seventh and eighth in the table.
Budleigh Salterton 2nds are league leaders in E Division East, recording just two defeats so far and three points above Clyst St George 2nds.
Honiton are currently fifth in this division, with Ottery St Mary 2nds in eighth, and Axminster Town CC still searching for their first win at the bottom.
It is a similar tale of toil for Honiton 2nds, who are currently holding up the rest in F Division East, two places behind Seaton 2nds. Braunton 2nds are the leaders in this division.
Sidbury have suffered just one defeat in G Division East and chasing down leaders Shobrooke Park 2nds but Exmouth 3rds and Feniton 2nds will need some wins to pull away from the bottom half.
