In what is an annual fixture played alternatively home and away, Devon entertained Cornwall at Exeter’s ISCA Centre determined to shake the Pirates off the winners’ perch on which they’d sat for the last two years, writes David West.
The competition was played as triples with five rounds of six games, and one Devon team remained unbeaten all day with another losing only once.
Three rounds were halved at 3-3, but with emphatic rounds of 6-0 and 4-2 the Dumplings took the match 19-11.
They also ended with an excellent point’s difference of plus 61.
Devon players came from clubs at Bideford, Chudleigh, Exeter, and Ottery St Mary.
