Doctor Hastie lifted the Valance Cup at Sidmouth, writes Chris Roberts.

It was with surgical precision that Will (the doctor) Hastie carded the winning score of 38 points including a two on the 11th.

The runners up spot was a much tighter affair with four players all on 36 points and, with countback required, it was Mr Golf, Craig Melluish, getting the nod over Paul Hitchcock.

Craig got off to bit of a slow start with only four points through the first five holes, but with eight pars and one double-bogey on the back nine giving him a 21 point back nine.

Pauls round was a much steadier card with consistent scoring through all 18 holes.
