Drinks were ‘on the house’’ following a landlord success in the latest Sidmouth jewellers meeting, writes Chris Roberts.
Local pub landlord Chris Ward secured the victory with a vey impressive 42 points three ahead off his nearest challenger his round included a five point birdie on the ninth.
In second place was the in-form Lee Wenham with 39 points and this resulted in his handicap being reduced to single figures.
Third spot went to Brian Trott with 38 points and he too saw his handicap cut, in his case by a single shot.
The league is currently headed by two of the club’s form players I the shape of John Jones with eight points and Lee Wenham.
