Sidmouth and Ottery Hockey Club (SOHC) ladies 2nd XI remain second and are still one of just two teams still to lose in the Sedgemoor Division Two this season after they were 3-0 winners against White Eagles III.
SOHC made a bright start, retaining possession with confidence and passing the ball crisply. The early endeavour brought a series of short corners, but none converted – despite some near misses!
With half-time just seconds away the deadlock was finally broken when Karen Dutton found the back of the net.
There was more of the same in the second half during which time SOHC increased the tempo and, playing a mix of enterprising, and battling hockey, they were rewarded with two further goals; a second from Dutton and one from Flora Hastie.
Tomorrow (Saturday) SOHC, who sit second, four points behind table-topping Weston-super-Mare II. travel up the M5 to meet second from bottom Taunton Vale who were beaten 8-2 at Bridgwater II last weekend. However, they did win their last home game, that being a 1-0 success over Weston-super-Mare III on the final Saturday of November. The match at Taunton Vale kicks off at 10am.
