Sidmouth and Ottery (SOHC) men’s second team were beaten 3-1 when they met Okehampton first team.

A fine all-round performance from the team was slightly let down by some poor finishing which, had it been more clinical, would surely have led to SOHC getting something out of the game.

Okehampton held a 2-0 half-time advantage, but good midfield work from Jon Dutton, Henry Mutter, George Powell and James Broad saw SOHC battle back into the contest and Jack Ellison applied a smart finish to halve the deficit.

That set SOHC up to lay siege to the Okehampton goal, but a second finish could not be found and the opposition sealed the points with a late third.

Joe Button had a fine game in goal and, what is clear, is that SOHC II are ending the season in positive style despite their current lowly league position.
