EMILY King won a gold medal for high jump at the national Prep Schools Athletics Championships in Birmingham on June 30. She jumped 1.41m to win the title and followed up with 1.43m, a personal best, on school sports day. Emily, 12, is a pupil at St John's School, Sidmouth. She is no stranger to medal ceremonies as mum Mary is a regular member of the British eventing squad and is soon off to the Olympics. The horse events take place in Hong Kong.
