Mary King to miss the European Championship.

Mary King has received a blow with news that two of her top horses will miss the Autumn season due to minor tendon injuries.

Following falls on Imperial Cavalier at Barbary Horse Trials and Kings Temptress at Salperton Horse Trials it means she will not have a ride at Burghley this Autumn.

Writing in her blog on her superbly presented website www.maryking.co.uk she says: “ I’ve been at it long enough so should know that’s how it goes! I always say to people to keep your chin up when you are having a down time and enjoy the good times to the full, as they won’t last for ever! That said I will really miss riding in the British Team at the European Championship.”

Daughter Emily is enjoying a good spell and remains on track for selection for the Junior European Championships at Jardy just south of Paris in the second week of September. Emily is in action next week (August 8) at Aston Le Walls, after which the British team will be announced for the Paris event.
