EXETER Chiefs have secured the services of the Royal Navy's Marshall Cormack.

Cormack, who also played for Bridgwater & Albion RFC, played for the Navy in the annual Army v Navy match at Twickenham in May.

The lock joins Josh Drauniniu and Dan Parkes as the Chiefs' Navy recruits. Both Drauniniu and Cormack will still fulfil some of their Navy rugby commitments.

The addition of Cormack brings the Chiefs' squad to a total of 49 and new players to 16, including Richard Bolt who was on loan to Cornish Pirates.

Chiefs' director of rugby Pete Drewett said: "Marshall came to our attention through some great performances for the Navy and Bridgwater & Albion. He trained with us briefly towards the end of last season and we are very grateful that the Royal Navy felt that Marshall would improve his rugby skills further through regular training and playing with Exeter Chiefs."

Scotsman Cormack, aged 29, said: "It's great to get it all signed and delivered after having been here since the start of pre- season in June. We had to sort a few things out with my boss but I have now been given a year out of the Navy and I am really looking forward to the opportunity."
