So the football rollercoaster continues for Exeter City, with momentum building with every game.

The match against Harrogate literally had us all on the edge of our seats, and how the stadium erupted when Jack Sparkes scored that winner in the final seconds! To come back from 3-1 down was just incredible and what a great return for Jack, who has spent so much time out injured, to score in the final stages of the game.

We held Bristol Rovers to a draw, in another great game of football on Saturday and we’ve got big matches coming up, with Mansfield away this Friday, swiftly followed by Swindon, Salford and Crawley – all at St James Park.

There’s a great vibe around the club at the moment, both on and off the pitch. It was fantastic to beat clubs across all the leagues, to win the Fan Engagement index - for the third year on the trot, no less. The Index, which is produced by Think Fan Engagement, uses data to measure clubs across all the football leagues on their dialogue with fans, their governance and transparency.

This really is testament to the hard work of so many people; from our hardworking, dedicated (and small but perfectly formed…) media team, to the work of the Supporters’ Trust in engaging with our fans. As a supporter-owned club, with a focus on community, these types of accolades are important in showing where we are getting things right, and of course, we never rest on our laurels, always striving to improve what we do.

Fan experience is certainly something we are always looking to improve, we want to make every visit to St James Park as enjoyable and memorable as possible. And soon fans will be able to experience the new big screen.

Fortunately, it came through storms Dudley, Eunice and Franklin unscathed and should be operational this month. From opportunities for our sponsors, to replays, I’m looking forward to the cameras being turned around and seeing our fans up on the big screen. It’s a fantastic addition to the stadium - I’m also looking forward to seeing lots of winning score lines…

One person whose impact on Exeter City Football Club will never be forgotten is Ivor Doble, who sadly passed away last week, at the age of 96. He was well known throughout the area for his jewellery shops and as a former chairman of the club; but he was a fan of the club first and foremost and everyone at the club passes on their condolences to his family. There have been lots of tributes to him across social media, which just shows what high regard he was held in.

Congratulations are in order for the team of hardy fundraisers who just spent 60 days rowing across the Atlantic to raise money for mental health charities. Made up of Exeter City Academy coach Mick Turner, Academy sport scientist James Bevan, Ryan Tipping, Fire and Rescue and Dom Thorne, Exeter Chiefs S&C Coach, the group boarded their boat, the Cockleshell Endeavour in Gran Canaria in December.

They have battled winds, currents, very sore body parts, running out of their main food supplies and three-metres high waves, and made it to Barbados last week. They’ve already raised an incredible £14,000 of their £40,000 target – congratulations to them on this amazing achievement.

In other Academy news, there have been some really great results for the Academy recently, rounding off with the under 23s winning against Wolves this week. Although they have finished third in their group and don’t progress any further in the tournament, they can be very proud of their results.

So, the final third of the season is now well underway, I’m looking forward to seeing you all at the Park, and remember - the future is bright, the future is red and white!
