Virtual runs and lockdown challenges have been blissfully replaced by some genuine real-life racing for Sidmouth Running Club.
A smattering of Mighty Greens were amongst the 805 runners who took part in the Tough Runner Exeter Epic 10k at Escot and Niall Hawkins, in his first trial, achieved a superb 40th position overall, fifth in his age category (40-49).
Other results included Kate Marriot 105 (1st junior female), Don Cawthera 321 (3rd M60+), Deb Marriott 418 (13th M50-59) and Derek Blackburn 431 (6th M60).
There was a great sense of achievement for Team ‘Sidbury School Run’ who thoroughly enjoyed their 10k debut at Escot.
The team were led by Charlotte Forrer, who said: “It was a gorgeous sunny day and the race day atmosphere was very exciting.”
