In the Sidmouth Jewellers Friday Stableford competition at Sidmouth Golf Club, Neil Faulkner won the top spot with 38 points on a day when good scores were hard to find, writes John Rockey.
Faulkner played steadily with a solid round comprising 10 pars and eight bogeys to just hold off Steve Crabb who also scored 38 points, but lost out on a count back.
In third place was Steve French with 36 points who managed to hold off the challenge of Mark Thomas who came in fourth on a count back.
That Thomas fourth spot took him to top spot in the Friday League, but only just ahead of vice captain David Pepperell with James Spiller currently in third place.
