Sidmouth Ladies held the Grandmothers Trophy, writes Maria Clapp.
Twenty-four ladies took part and it turned out to be a grand mother playing for the first time who took top spot!
Liz Chance won the event with 38 points and, in a close contest for the minor places, countback was used to separate Penny Lyne and Sue Langdon. Both players carded scores of 37 points with Lyne taking the runners-up berth. It was certainly a most enjoyable day for all involved.
On Wednesday the ladies played in The Morrit Medal Competition and we will bring results to you in next weeks Sidmouth Herald.
It was reported the other day that we had raised £11.00 for Hospiscare. This was actually a misprint as we actually raised the sum of £111.00!
