Teign III 3, SOHC ladies IV 3

A thundery start to the day didn’t prove to be ominous for Sidmouth and Ottery’s Ladies IV team, who after an early start with it chucking it down, travelled to Dawlish to play Teign III, writes Maggie Heal.

SOHC took an early lead with Caren Flicker converting a miss-strike from Maggie Heal. This was followed by another short corner conversion by Norma Rich, courtesy of a well redirection of the ball by Heal. Just before half time we conceded a short corner which was converted. In the second half, despite valiant efforts from Hannah, Jess tubbs, and Robyn, scoring was harder. Then injury struck the home team and with no subs left the team pulled out all stops to drive forward, into the opposition’s goal area and scored. Unfortunately all the hard work in defence failed to keep out the opposition and two late goals were conceded.

Tomorrow (October 5) the team play SOHC III at Sidmouth Community College (10.30am).
