Sidmouth RFC U16 51, Dorchester 0

This was the first time these sides have met and Sidmouth were given a warm and friendly welcome at Dorchester.

The first half was even and Dorchester could have taken the lead with more composure and a bit of luck, but the only score came from Sidmouth flanker Wells Burr.

Sidmouth were confident that, if they could get their game going in the second half, they had the beating of their Dorset hosts. The front five got a grip with Headon, Rutland, Welsford, Down and Perchard-Richards all stepping-up.

Carlisle, Kearn and Wells Burr became more influential and Harris brought accuracy to the midfield of Locke and Toomey who both played well. The result was a second half hat-trick for wingman Harry Thomas, together with scores from Charlie Wells and Locke. With a number of tough fixtures coming-up this was another good performance.
