Sidmouth Raiders Under-14s were emphatic 9-0 winners when they travelled into Exeter to meet Whipton Youth.

The powerful showing by Raiders leaves them in the thick of the promotion race.

Ethan Gribble continued his rich vein of goal scoring form, firing his side into the lead with a strike that arrowed its way into the top of the home net.

The lead was doubled after Reuben Bennett weaved his way into the Whipton area before drilling the ball home and it was soon 3-0 as Joel Evans applied a polished finish to a slick passing move.

A breath-taking start to the contest left Raiders three goals to the good inside the first 10 minutes and it was 4-0 when Freddie Dorman struck to add to his goal count that will surely see him in contention for the divisional golden boot award.

Frank Long scored a brace of terrific goals and Josh O’Connor rounded things off with a quick-fire double.

Reuben Bennett was named the Raiders Man of the Match for his impressive first half performance that saw him score that terrific individual goal and he also had three assists to his name.
