Fluxton produced three victories inside five days to sit proudly top of the Fresha League Division Seven table and they now require just four more points to guarantee a top three finish and with it promotion to Division Six.

First of the trio of wins was a midweek local derby at Otterton where the side overcame a slippery surface, fading light and the hosts to bag a nap hand success.

Mike Bott and James Santer produced outstanding individual performances as goals from Santer, O Paget, T Rapps, Bott and an unfortunate home defender accounted for the Fluxton nap hand.

Next up they travelled to the Met Office who were despatched 8-1. They led 1-0 after a fairly uneventful first half.

A second was scored shortly after the re-start before the home side were allowed to halve the deficit. The weather men then went close to levelling before Fluxton showed their undoubted qualities by seizing control. Olly Paget added two more to complete his hat-trick, the last a superb waist-high volley fro the edge of the area.

Ali Buchan, playing as the second striker scored four times, the pick of them being when Tom Rapps, scorer of the opener, collected a 40-yard ball over the left back’s head, marched forward before crossing to the far post where Buchan arrived to knock it home.

A 2-1 win at Tedburn St Mary was arguably the pick of the three victories for the hoe team had clearly strengthened their team for the game.

Mike Bott fired Fluxton in front, but the Mid Devon side levelled with virtually the final kick of the first half.

After the break, keeper Matty Sercombe was an inspiration, making a number of superb saves. Having dug deep and taken the sting out of then home side, Fluxton finished strongly and deservedly bagged another maximum three points when, with 20 minutes remaining, Bott scores his second. Thereafter Fluxton closed ranks and saw the game out in some style.

On Saturday Fluxton make the short trip to Colaton Raleigh.
