Pinhoe Pirates O West Hill 3

As the whistle blew for the start of the season, West Hill immediately took control and kept Pinhoe pinned back in their own half. On the rare occasion Pinhoe broke through,

Thomas Simmons and Euan Webber were quick and confident in dealing with it leaving little for keeper Dominic Harrower to do. The scoring soon began with some great passing football between Ollie Pugsley, Ben Marsh and man of the match, Jonathan Pitcher who’s pin point passing set up Ollie Benson to score. Jonathan quickly made it 2-0 with a great strike from the edge of the box. Jonathans cross to Benson was passed to Pugsley to slot into the corner of the net to bring home a convincing 0-3 win.

Against the run of play a Pugsley pass led to Benson scoring the first goal which settled the team down and allowed Ben, Joseph Green and Thomas to take control. A long throw in from Thomas resulted in a bullet header by Ben, 0-2.

A stunning strike from outside the box by Ben rattled the crossbar which Pugsley picked up and chipped the keeper to make it 0-3. It soon became 0-4 when Thomas found Ben and he drilled it home from 20 yards. Will Amos and Sam Read were introduced with Will striking the fifth goal from outside the box and Sam’s half volley superbly saved by Broadclyst’s keeper. Great football boys, well done.
