Ottery St Mary entertain Sandford tomorrow (Saturday) in the first round of the Football Express Cup.

The Otters launched their campaign with a midweek defeat at home to Otterton, but they were fielding a patched up side and will be boosted for the cup tie with the return of the Harris brothers, Adam and Toby.

Adam Harris scored 37 goals in the teams Fresha League Division Six title winning campaign and, like his brother, missed Tuesday night’s 2-1 loss in their opening Division Five game – but there were plenty of positives for the team to take from the match.

Ottery boss Mike Dawe will be back in the Washbrook Meadow dugout after missing the midweek game as he was holidaying in Spain and so Reserve team boss Dave Fairweather was on duty to oversee things.

Fairweather said: “There were some encouraging signs on Tuesday night especially given the fact that we had half the regular first team not on the pitch. I think we’ll see two changed Ottery elevens this weekend. Certainly, in the case of the Reserves. I have had the players in for a double shift this week as something of a punishment for a horrible display last weekend against Bickleigh Reserves. We must do better – and we will.”
