Sidmouth Under-14s booked a last eight place in the County Cup with a narrow, but deserved success over the visiting Plymouth side.

The DJM side, the fourth that Sidmouth have faced in this competition in recent seasons, were restricted to a few second half chances, one superbly tipped over by Fin Marks.

In general it was Jamie Newbery and his defence that made sure that the Villa strikers saw precious little sight of the Sidmouth goal.

At the other end chances, many created by the excellent duo Joe Miller and Tyler Wellman, went begging at an alarming rate until Freddie King rifled a shot home to send Sidmouth into their second successive county quarter final.
