Sidmouth Warriors Under-12s began their Exeter and District Youth League season sharing six goals with visiting Heavitree.

Playing at their superb new home of Salcombe Regis Recreation Field, Warriors were soon on the back foot as the lively visitors took a deserved early lead.

Warriors were quickly level thanks to a trade-mark burst and finish from Tim Goody.

The home team then took the lead with a curling free-kick courtesy of Stanley Richardson, but the visitors struck next, scoring from a corner to complete the first half scoring.

After the break the Exeter side took a 3-2 lead with little time remaining. However, undaunted, Warriors were quickly back onto the attack and, when they were awarded a penalty it was driven into the top corner of the net by Stanley Richardson to ensure the opening day spoils were shared.
