Ottery St Mary Under-11s win high scoring affair with Sidmouth Raiders

Ottery St Mary Under-11s secured a hard-fought win over Sidmouth Raiders in an Exeter and District Youth League meeting, writes Ross Cooper.

The Otters dominated for most of the first half, but couldn’t find the net and fell behind to a swift counter attack.

Just before the break Tom Perry tucked the ball away to see the sides into half-time all square at 1-1.

After then break the Otters found a new gear and their passing became quicker, and crisper!

Some of the inter-linking team play was a joy to watch with defenders Oliver Farrington and Oliver Holgate playing their part.

Further goals were scored by Albie Upson, Ed Cooper and Joe Wilkinson.

Sidmouth continued to carry a threat on then counter-attack and also notched from set pieces as the Otters won 6-4.
