Reserves’ impressive run

Sidmouth Town Res 4, Elmore 2
Sidmouth kept their impressive run of results going with a fine 4-2 victory over visiting Elmore on Saturday.
They flew out of the traps and looked like they wanted to win the game as early as possible and, after dominating, Craig Badcock, who was causing the visitors all sorts of problems, scored on 14 minutes. Three minutes later Kev Dorman made it 2-0 and Elmore were rocking as the Vikings tore into them and on the 30 minute mark Kev Dorman scored from the spot after Jack Knight was hauled down from a surging run.
Unfortunately, the hosts took their foot off the pedal and Elmore got a goal back after a thunderous long range shot.
Elmore, having got the lift of a goal, came out for the second half eager to get another and put Sidmouth under some pressure but, just as it looked like Sidmouth had weathered the storm, Elmore earned a penalty.
Elmore scored and it was game on. Massive credit to Sidmouth though as, within five minutes, they scored a fine team goal through Tom Perryman to knock the stuffing out of Elmore and saw the rest of the game out with ease.
Manager Nick Ogden said: "We have wanted the lads to start as they did today for some time now and I believe we played some fantastic football, considering how heavy the pitch was and the opposition obviously being strengthened after their first team game was called off.
“They really couldn’t handle our passing and movement, especially Craig Badcock who was a constant threat. We were disappointed to let them back into it but, as I say every week, we are learning and improving. If we want to improve then we have to learn from the inevitable mistakes that get made at this level and I feel that mentally we are now very strong. Every single player worked hard and did well but for me Nick Gingell was outstanding."
The next games are tough away fixtures against Chard and Tiverton respectively and Ogden is looking forward to see how far his team has really progressed.
