With both sides understrength for this local derby, it was unsurprising that the football was rather scrappy and disjointed throughout.
With both sides understrength for this local derby, it was unsurprising that the football was rather scrappy and disjointed throughout. It was Beer who certainly created the better chances in the first half, and the two goals scored by the impressive Luke Bartlett and centre-half Martyn Hancock were very well taken. The home side continued to dominate after the interval but, when Richard Austin scored for Feniton from a swift counter-attack, the result suddenly looked in doubt. However, a flowing move from the Albion led to an excellent goal from Matt Rowson which calmed the nerves of the home supporters. The win allowed Beer to leapfrog their neighbours into fifth position in the league, their highest placing so far.
