Sixteen-year-old jamie newberry signs South West Peninsula League forms for Sidmouth Town

Sidmouth Town Under-16 captain, and now regular member of the Vikings’ senior side, Jamie Newberry was part of the successful Devon Under-16 team that beat Gwent 3-0 last Sunday at the home of Newport County.

Newberry is once again included in the county team’s fourth outing this season when they travel to Almondbsury, Bristol to meet Gloucestershire on Sunday, December 21 (2pm).

Two other Town youngsters, Freddie King and Jack Dewinton are included in the stand-by squad providing back-up to the main group of 16.

The full Devon squad is: Harrison Burton (Cullompton Rangers and Willand Rovers), Elliot Bawden and Tom Wakenham), Kingsley Burrows and Jack Ottaway ( Brixham AFC), Tom Kempson and Scott Robinson (Stoke Gabriel), Jamie Newberry (Sidmouth Town), Sam Jones (Willand Rovers), Levi Edwardson and Sam Webber (Exwick Villa), Bailey Jason-Ryan and Josh Mclean (Exwick Villa and Willand Rovers), Jamie Orchard (South Dartmoor College), Joshua Toulson (Marine Academy Juniors) and Mark Webber (Cullompton Rangers).

Stand-by players: Brad Robbins (Plymstock United), Freddie King and Jack Dewinton (Sidmouth Town), Lewis Phillips (Marine Academy Plymouth), Matthew King (Braunton Wanderers) and Charlie Johansen (South Dartmoor College).
