The team made a fluent start with Jacob Rowe and Tyler Wellman influential.

However, during the Exeter side’s first attack a mistake at the back gifted them a surprise lead.

Under-14 player Ben Gosse was getting a run-out playing a year up and he linked well with Jonny Dunn prior to the latter levelling.

Sidmouth took the lead with a crisp shot from Wellman and that took the side’s into the break with Sidmouth leading 2-1.

After the break Ed Doble increased the lead, but West Exe struck back with a second ten minutes from time.

As well as young Gosse impressing there was also a confident debut from another of the cub’s Under-14 players, Ollie Newton.
