Thorverton 2, Sidmouth 2

Sidmouth Under-15s shared four goals on their midweek visit to Mid Devon.

Once again they made a confident start with some neat inter-play that created opportunities for Tyler Wellman, Joe Miller and Jacob Rowe.

The lead was taken from a Miller corner with Sidmouth skipper Jamie Newbery powering a header home.

A similar goal was scored from another corner by Jonny Dunn to double the lead. However, the home side struck back just before the break to go in only one goal down.

In the second half the home side levelled at 2-2 and thereafter both sides fashioned chances to bag a third. The closest either team came was when a Dunn effort cannoned back off the crossbar.

There were promising performances from three of the club’s Under-14 players in the game with Ben Miller, Ben Gosse and the particularly impressive Ollie Newton, all making excellent contributions.
