Sidmouth Raiders and Warriors Under-10s took on teams from Ottery St Mary and West Hill in Exeter Youth League derby matches.
Raiders began against West Hill and, with Thomas Fletcher and David Clapp orchestrating things in midfield, took the lead with a poachers finish by Man of the Match William Pulman.
West Hill hit back, but a second Pulman goal restored the lead.
After the break West Hill began well and deservedly levelled. With duo Harrison Howe and Jake Paget looking in control, a draw seemed on the cards before, with the clock ticking down, West Hill won the match with a last-gasp goal.
Next up Raiders took on a good Ottery St Mary side that raced into a two-goal lead. Raiders made a spirited recovery and Michal Bielawski halved the deficit. After the break, despite some superb goalkeeping from Oscar Parkinson, the Otters added two more. Goals from Thomas Fletcher and a second from Bielawski gave Raiders hope, but the Otters took the points with a 4-3 win.
Warriors began with a game against Ottery and the early exchanges were even. Warriors, with a solid defensive platform established by Man of the Match Callum French and Tom Cload, began to take control and a through ball from Toby Edmunds set up Ben Elsom to open the scoring.
After the break the Otters created a couple of chances, but could not get the better of Anthony Nita in the Warriors goal. An Edmunds slick finish and a trademark Jamie Pitter goal sealed Warriors a 3-0 lead.
Against West Hill, Warriors had a tired look about them early on. However, they grew into the contest and began to create chances only to be denied by the exceptional West Hill glovesman. It was young Pitter who broke the deadlock and, after the break, with Man of the Match Matthew Dunford dictating things and he provided the assist for Edmunds to net the second and seal victory.
In the last few seconds the Warriors and Dunford were unlucky not to grab a third - goal line technology not available at Under 10 level!
