Sidmouth Warriors Under-10s were in action at Bradninch for their latest Exeter and District Youth League encounters.
They played the home team first and, with the very first attack of the morning, Charley Turley fired Warriors into the lead!
With the wind blowing at near gale force if made for difficult playing conditions, but Turley doubled the lead before some terrific inter-passing between Man of the Match Jamie Pitter and Dev Nair saw Pitter make it 3-0 by half-time.
The second half saw Warriors play into the ever-increasing wind, but, thanks to some excellent defending from Finn Upsher and Matthew Dunford the home side were unable to find a way back into the game.
At the other end of the pitch more goals were scored with Turley completing his hat-trick and Ben Elsom also getting a goal as Warriors closed out a 7-0 win.
In their second game Warriors came up against a good Cullompton side. The opening exchanges were even, but once Warriors got the ball moving they began to take charge. It was no surprise when, following a slick passage of passing, Tom Cload fired Warriors ahead. Cully came back well and, after a number of fine saves by Man of the match Anthony Nita in the Warriors goal, the Mid Devon lads levelled to send the teams into the break all square at 1-1.
Warriors took an early second half lead thanks to a trademark Toby Edmunds finish.
With the referee looking at his watch Cully attempted one last attack - and scored. There was still time for Warriors to launch a desperate bid to find a third, but it would not arrive and they had to settle for a share of the spoils from an entertaining 2-2 draw.
