SIDMOUTH Town Reserves ended their season as winners of both the Carlisle Cup and the Grandisson Cup.The Carlisle Cup, which had been entered to give the younger players a chance, saw a 1-0 victory over Feniton Reserves. It was a tight game throughout, Sidmouth going in 1-0 up at half time when Billy Jaworski tapped in when Ben Valentine's shot was saved. Jaworski had a further effort ruled offside. Man of the Match overall was Sidmouth keeper Hugh Cort who had a great game and, said manager Rob Fowler, his Feniton equivalent pulled off three great second half saves. The team were: Hugh Cort, Toby Gigg, Jay Thorne (captain), Rikki Pitter, Gary Carpenter, Lewis Perry, Joe Clarke, Neil Blake, Chris Warefield, Billy Jaworski, Ben Valentine. Subs: Jordan Cooper, Adrian Horne, Alan Rowe; not used: Liam Burke, Steve Edwards. The Reserves went on to beat Sidbury Reserves - who had beaten them twice in league combat this season - 3-2 in the semi-final of the Grandisson Cup. Craig Badcock scored a hat-trick, two goals from set pieces and one from a corner. They met Tipton St John in the final and immediately put three men on to stop ex-Exeter City star Steve Flack dominating. They blocked his runs and won 3-0 with goals from Badcock, Lewis Perry and Chris Duchenski, the latter being re-registered for this cup. Manager Rob Fowler said: "We didn't think we would beat Sidbury but thought we may have the advantage in set pieces. "We were always confident against Tipton, who are older, and we made sure we passed the width of the pitch and made them run. "Fitness told and it was a really nice feeling to end the season like that. We had hardly kept a clean sheet all season so to end 3-0 was great." Team: Craig Fitzhenry, Toby Gigg, John Paul Staniforth, Rikki Pitter, Charlie Nicholle, Lewis Perry, Neil Blake, Joe Clarke, Chris Duchenski, Craig Badcock, Ben Valentine. Subs: Jordan Cooper, Alan Rowe, Chris Warfield.
