The fourth cricket match in memory of Matt Stiling will take place on the Fortfield ground on Sunday, August 30.

Once again, the Marine and Mermaid pubs will be contesting, with the Mermaid leading 2-1. The Marine will be looking to avenge the sound beating the Mermaid boys dished out in the pub league.

Matt was a regular for the Mermaid, but would call his local the Marine.

On the same day, the first match of the tri-tournament - also formed in Matt's memory - will take place between Sidmouth's rugby and football teams.

Sidmouth Cricket Club will then play the rugby boys in a game of football and the tournament will culminate with the footballers taking on the cricketers at rugby.

The dates for the football and rugby games have yet to be confirmed as have the times for the cricket matches but these will appear in next week's Sidmouth Herald.

All in all, the cricket matches will be their usual brand of fun and entertainment and, hopefully, Sidmouth Cricket 1st XI can return home to a large crowd with the Devon Cup as they compete in the final on the same day.
