Fowler and Longmuir share success in East Devon ladies’ October medal meet

Sue Fowler and Linda Longmuir were the joint winners of the ladies October medal competition at East Devon Golf Club, writes Helen Chivers.

Both Fowler and Longmuir recorded four under par nett 70’s as they shared victory and claimed top spot in their respective divisions.

Fowler was first in Division One, two shots clear of Linda Knapton who scored a two under par nett 72. Third place went to Shirley Horsburgh on countback from Sue Burley, both of whom scored nett 73’s. Jill Dunsford was fifth with a level par nett 74.

Longmuir was victorious in Division One by just one shot from Jenny Dobel, who scored a nett 71. Jan Brunwin was two shots further back in third with her nett 73 and ladies’ vice captain Sandra Sydenham took fourth on countback from Jane Joy as they both recorded level par nett 74’s.
