Sidmouth III stay top of the F Division East after a Jordan Fowler inspired success at Braunton II.

Batting first in North Devon, Sidmouth were given a fine start by openers George House (5) and David Watkins (29), but then fall away from 141 to 164-7 at the close with the only other double figure contribution being a knock of 24 from Tim Chapman.

The home side made steady progress and, at 90-3, looked favourites until Jordan Fowler was introduced as second change and he promptly claimed four wickets for 15 runs in eight overs as Braunton slipped to 147 all out in 33 overs and one ball.

Tim Drake and Luke Raistrick both picked up two wickets and there were single wicket returns for Tim Chapman and Fionn Wardrop.

Seventeen-year-old spinner Fowler now has 24 league wickets this season and is averaging a n impressive 8.08 with the ball – what’s more his economy is good too – 3.10!
