DESPITE going in at half time a goal to the good, Sidmouth missed out on the points in this difficult game.Playing on a heavy pitch at Heavitree, Sidmouth worked hard to contain the home side and scored against the run of play with Simon Hudson hitting the back of the net.In the second half, the away side continued to be put under pressure and errors started to creep in to the play, which allowed Heavitree to score twice in the half to seal the points.Sidmouth manager Paul Ashford said: "We scored against the run of play and in the second half we could not really contain them. There were some individual errors on what was an awkward pitch."I don't like to make excuses, but we lost five players through injury and unavailability, which left us up against it."He said the players who came into the side acquitted themselves well.Mr Ashford said: "I was pleased with the way we went about it but frustrated with the result. It leaves us seventh in the league."This weekend sees the side take on Feniton in the local derby.
