Axminster III may well have played through a fourth game of the Francis Clark Devon league season on Saturday without winning, but, they produced a couple of individual performances that were most notable!
Lorraine Szczepansia, who joined the Cloakham Lawns club last year to play in the Ladies XI, produced the highest individual score of 16 as the side were bowled out for 62 in reply to the Countess Wear II offering of 184.
In the Exeter teams innings, 14-year old leg spinner Sam Farrow claimed 5-53.
Axminster’s Phil Spong said: “Lorraine joined us last year and settled in very quickly, initially in the Ladies XI. She is a fine all-rounder and a real asset to the side. In the case of young Sam, he hails from Dorset where he plays for the county under-15s. He is a smashing young lad who, though a tender 14 years of age, plays with a cricketing head of someone ten years his senior.”
