Eight Mighty Greens lined up at the start of the Great West Run half marathon in Exeter recently and for Bert Dykema, it was his first, with the challenge made even more considerable by the searing heat.
Bert was delighted with his finishing time of 2:09:00 and found the event very well organised and very enjoyable. Bert said: “The last few miles were tough, you thought this is the last hill, but no, before you knew it, there was another one!”
MG Richard Summerhayes was the first SRC runner over the line; finishing second in his age category in 1:28:44 and David King came first in his age category finishing in 1:41:30.
