Honiton Colts 0, Sidmouth RFC Colts 20 - A local derby is always a fiercely contested game at whatever level and this Colts match was no exception.

A local derby is always a fiercely contested game at whatever level and this Colts match was no exception. Both sides looked evenly matched in the first 20 minutes in terms of pace and ball handling but it was Sidmouth who were to dominate the game and possession. Some excellent work given the windy, cold and wet conditions from the front row of Ben Rix, Liam Kubaczka and Matt Farrington ensured winning scrums and the pack were driving forward in mauls and getting to the ball much quicker than earlier in the season. The second row were always in support with Dan Ledger and Rob Jackson securing ball well. The first half saw Stuart Bickerstaff as scrum half and he worked well with fly half Will Dunford to get quick ball out to the backs. It was from such a move that winger Ben Salter scored the first try which was unconverted. Sidmouth's No. 8 Richard 'Noddy' Hodges followed up with a 'pick and go' try moments later which was converted by Tom Hodge during a spell which had seen Honiton reduced to 14 men following a high tackle. Honiton had a missed penalty kick opportunity just before half time. For the second half Sidmouth were playing up the slope and dug in deep to defend their lead. Will Gater had an excellent game at full back and kicked some magnificent balls up field. His pace and tackling was exceptional. Will Dunford scored a cheeky drop goal but the try of the game was by Tom Ross who ran the entire length of the pitch. Honiton went over the line only to be held up by Bickerstaff and some superb defending by Tom Hodge, Ryan Davies and Ross Collins kept them from scoring in the dying minutes of the game.
