Sidmouth Under-11s met teams from Withycombe for a morning that saw the players each involved in two matches.

The first game set off at a great pace with Withycombe having a speedy winger who touched down for three tries. Sidmouth managed to answer this with Archie Rowcliffe knocking his way through defenders to score twice. However, Withy ended the first game as winners, but the Sidmouth squad were clearly fired up and ready for revenge on the second game!

From the first whistle Sidmouth got the ball out wide to Hayden Hall and Alexander Goody on the two wings – both Sidmouth players were clearly faster than any other player on the Raleigh Park pitch!

The middle of the field was held by sturdy defence and Reece Hext, at full-back, looked good under the high ball. What was clear to a large watching Sidmouth support was that the players had obviously worked out that all they had to do was get the ball wide and tries would start coming - and sure enough both wingers touched down to see Sidmouth to a 3-1 victory in a match that ended early as the pitch was required for more teams to play!
