Sidmouth Raiders Under-11s shared six goals in a thrilling meeting with Exeter-based Central United.

Given that the Exeter side are the only team to have defeated Raiders this season a tough encounter was anticipated.

The visitors dominated much of the first half, pining Raiders deep in their own half, denying them possession of the ball. However, Raiders eventually settled and started to create chances. After several deep incursions into the United half, a well-worked throw-in saw Soren Hall weave his way through the United defence, before smashing the ball into the roof of the net. The lead was short lived and, once level, United got back on top forcing some wonderful, saves by Raiders’ glovesman Thomas Craig.

In front of the goalkeeper, defenders Will Denton, Adam Dunford and Man of the Match, Bobby Henderson, ensured that things stayed even. However, the United pressure eventually told and they took a 2-1 lead only for Levi Marks to quickly restore parity.

The Exeter side regained the lead, but, fittingly for such an end-to-end game of football between two well-matched teams, honours ended even thanks to a superb finish from Soren Hall.
