Sidmouth Warriors Under-8s had mixed fortunes in their two games at Honiton, writes Andrew O’Connor.
A goal in the first half from Lucas O’Connor saw Warriors into the lead.
The home side came back strongly, but found Warriors gloves man Haiden Clapp in superb form.
He was eventually beaten twice, the second coming in the closing stages.
Warriors then took on Honiton Hippos who they beat 6-3.
Riley Pugsley fired Warriors ahead, but the Hippos struck back with three goals to take a healthy lead.
A Reece Hext brace, supported by the impressive James Plowden, restored parity before Lucas O’Connor made it 4-3.
A fine solo goal Dominic Benattar extended the Warriors lead and young Hext rounded things off with the sixth and final to bag himself a hat-trick.
