Sidmouth Croquet Club Golf Level Play team travelled to Exeter on Tuesday for a League match and enjoyed a good morning’s play winning three out of four doubles and all four singles games, writes David Butler.
The lawns were fast and are less than full size so this was a very creditable start.
The hosts then laid on an excellent lunch which softened Sidmouth’s play in the afternoon.
Philip Harris won all four of his games and Graeme Pryor won three which helped to give Sidmouth a win of eleven games to nine overall despite the strong afternoon fight-back by the Exeter team.
Philip is having a very successful season and has now improved his handicap to three
