A team of seven players from Sidmouth travelled to Nailsea for their final Golf Croquet match of the season, writes Mike Taylor.
By lunchtime, after four doubles and four singles matches had been played, Sidmouth found themselves in a 5-3 lead.
The afternoon session of 12 singles matches saw Sidmouth win 4, Nailsea win 6 with 2 drawn.
Some of the games were very hotly contested, the victor winning by just one hoop. Mention should be made of Keith Thorley, who won three of his games and drew one.
Another to warrant high praise if Marian Harris, new to the team this year, who won two games and drew one. Neither Keith or Marian lost a game on the day as the match score finished in an honourable 10-all draw.
