Harrison lands East Devon Schools Tennis Championships under-15 title.
Sidmouth College were well represented at the East Devon Schools Tennis Championships at Kings School, Ottery.
Eight boys played, four of them played in the under-13 event and the other four in the under-15 event. The overall standard at the competition was very high, and, unfortunately, only Sam Marriott and Jake Harrison made it through to the knock out stages.
Marriott was put out of the competition on the last point of the final game, such was the closeness of his final game but there was better news for Harrison who proceeded through the rounds to the final where he landed the top honour with a 6-2 success.
The under-15 title sits very nicely with young Harrison who also won the under-13 title last year!
The under-13 team was Matt Ogley, James Pearse, Brett Lines and Sam Marriott whilst the under-15 team comprised, Jamie Briggs, Oli Bond, Will Jenkins and Jake Harrison

In their last four games, Lockhart lost by a single game but Wiltshire prevailed in her match to make the final which she duly won 6-2 displaying al her usual calm and consistency.

Once again the overall standard was high and the whole team played well leaving the College very proud of the youngster’s efforts.
In the under-15 event Salmon finished third in her event whilst Vine and Barrett both came second in the groups stages whilst Hanson won her group and then had to play an extra match, as a quarter final, while other players had a bye. She won this to go through to the semi but narrowly lost by one game. The girls all played brilliantly and, as they are all a year younger, can play again next year and have another chance at the trophy!
