Bridport 0, Sidmouth 28. Sidmouth Under-12s shook off any perceived rustiness to claim a deserved clean sheet success on their visit to Dorset, writes Craig Morgan.

A brisk warm-up demonstrated that although rusty, Sidmouth were ’up for it’ and right from the off the boys retained possession well through text book rucking. Playing against his old team, Sean Harvey had a point to prove! He handled the ball smoothly in the early attacks and had several elusive runs stopped just short.

Jack Wilson quickly showed his class and used his pace to go close several times before eventually scorching in under the posts. The front row combinations of Finlay, Max, Jack M, Oli and Cole dominated their opposite numbers and won most scrums no matter who put the ball in.

The ample supply of ball, delivered slickly by Arch and Josh, then gave Finlay M the chance to spot an opening and power over the line. Henry and Deamo stoked the fire in the engine room and in the loose Peaky and Lou ran riot and even managed the odd link pass for good measure. Jack then scored his second and utility man, Cole Monaghan, bundled over for a well-deserved last try. Bondi was unlucky not to score with several rampaging runs and Scrivs, Jack T and Jamie all saw plenty of the ball. It was certainly a really slick all-round team performance.
