Jan Harvey swept the other 78 competitors aside in the East Devon Ladies December stableford last week, writes Helen Chivers.

In cold and cloudy conditions she won with a score of four under par 40 points to top the bronze division by four clear points from Annie Dent.

Dent’s level par 36 points saw her into second spot whilst third was Barbara Middleditch with 35 points with Val Humphrey fourth on 34 points.

Elaine Bright’s better back nine was enough to see her top silver division ahead of Sally Underwood as both amassed 36 points.

Alison Corney was third two shots behind with 34 points. While Sarah White headed a group of five ladies all on 33 points; her better back nine putting her ahead of Sue Owen-Pawson, Sue Fowler, Judy Murray and Jo Goldsworthy.
